Privacy

The Museum of Artificial Intelligence is designed so that the core visit and interactive exhibits work without an account and without requiring you to send personal data to the museum.

“Ask the exhibit”

It is not an external chatbot. The feature runs locally in the browser using JavaScript and rules applied to the published record on that page. Your question is not sent to OpenAI, Google, Anthropic or another model provider, and the feature does not store the question server-side.

The word “guide” describes the interface function. The current version does not use a remote generative-AI system to answer exhibit questions.

Local storage

Visit progress and accessibility preferences may be stored in your browser's local storage. These data remain on the device and can be deleted through browser settings.

Cookies and accounts

The museum requires no account and its core experience does not use cookies to build visitor profiles or serve personalised advertising.

External links and media

When you open an external source such as EUR-Lex, a university or Wikimedia Commons, you move to a third-party service with its own privacy policy. Some historical images may be loaded from an external host, so the browser may make a technical request to that host.

Technical hosting

The site is delivered through web-hosting/CDN infrastructure. As with any web server or CDN, the hosting provider may process connection data such as IP address and user agent for security and content delivery under its own terms. The museum does not use these data to build visitor profiles.

Future changes

If a real remote AI assistant is added later, this page will be updated before activation to identify the provider, data sent, retention and any international transfers.
